A new shop celebrated its grand opening in Wrexham town centre this afternoon.

Today saw the grand opening of the new Pound Store on Regent Street. To mark the event the store celebrated with a fun day and offers for the first customers in the store.

The shop has been empty since the end of August after long-term occupants, B&M Bargains, relocated to a larger store on Central Retail Park.

Over the past few weeks work on the new shop has been ongoing, with initial rumours suggesting that it would be Poundstretcher, who have a lease on that particular shop, would be moving in.

There had been comments from some traders than Regent Street had seen a dip in footfall since the relocation of B&M Bargains – with hopes that the new shop might see an increase in people using that area again.
