Last Thursday ‘Live Rooms’, a new music venue in Chester celebrated its launch night.

Formerly the comedy club, ‘The Laugh Inn’, the Wrexham team behind Central Station and South Central launched The Live Rooms, a new multi-room live entertainment venue across the border in Chester.

The launch event was headlined by the Mercury Music Prize winning Scottish band The View. The show was the first on the bands UK and European ‘Seven Year Setlist’ Greatest Hits tour. The sell out show was opened by Wrexham band The Maydayss, who will be playing their own headline show at Central Station in Wrexham on Friday November 22nd.

Alongside the headline act and the Maydays, the bands were joined by The Suns and The Velveteen Saints who performed an hour of indie classics before The View took to the stage.

Feedback from the crowd was extremely positive, with many complimenting the venue, staff, sound and light show. The over-riding feeling was that Chester finally has the venue it has always needed; with many saying it felt like a ‘big city’ venue.

In the coming weeks live entertainment at the venue will continue with DJ@War this Saturday night, and acts such as Mistajam, Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club, Martha Reeves, Marcus Bonfanti , Jaguar Skills, Mad Dog McRae and many more.
