A historic shopping arcade in the town centre has undergone a facelift after new and improved signage was installed.

The signage at the entrance of the Wrexham Central Arcade, which leads from the High Street to the Butchers Market, had been identified as in need of improvement by councillors and traders at a recent meeting.

Yesterday works installing the new and improved signage on the Grade II listed building was finished.

Cllr Terry Evans, Lead member for Economic Development and Regeneration, said the response from traders on the works carried out has been positive.

He added: “The signage on Wrexham Central Arcade was raised at the last Markets Scrutiny Committee, as something that required improvement.

“The Town Centre Management team has worked in partnership with the Private sector owners of these properties and Planning Conservation, as the market is a Grade 2 listed building to agree the works.”
