UPDATE: Rivulet Road Roof Standoff Ends After Almost Three Hours

UPDATE 3pm: The man has come down from the roof on Rivulet Road and the cordons / road have since reopened.

ORIGINAL STORY & UPDATES:

A man is angrily refusing to leave a roof on Rivulet Road this afternoon, ignoring police requests to come down.

UPDATE 2:04pm: The man is publishing video himself from the roof, containing audio of him being abusive to the people below. There is a screenshot from the video below, however we will not be publishing the video.

UPDATE 1:50pm: It appears there are two people on the roof, and with various offensive hand gestures being made towards police below there seems to be no intention of leaving it as of yet.

The man has gained entry to the roof area by the Powerzone Gym on Rivulet Road in Wrexham, close to where new lockup units have been built.

We are told the man is ‘shouting abuse’ at the police and throwing ‘items’ from the roof as he wanders about above.

The road is currently closed off by police with all exits to the surrounding buildings appearing to be secured.

North Wales Police confirm they were called to a report of a man on a roof at 12:18pm, with the man refusing to come down.
