Another insight to the local policing log has been written up by Acting Inspector Mike Norbury.

The full overview is below, and covers the Friday 15th into today Saturday 16th , as has been noted before a policing day is not the usual 24hours non-police are used to.

Good Afternoon Wrexham,

A mixed day of crime, concerns and mental health calls.

61 Calls for Service in the past 24hrs.

We had five Prisoners from Wrexham City in Llay Custody this morning. Two of them had breached existing Court Orders and as a result were sent to explain their actions to the Courts. One was a simple warrant from a court and two are to be progressed for various charges – This includes assaulting Police Officers and resisting arrest. It saddens me to see the nightshift going home back to their families with lumps and cuts on them when they are only trying to protect us all and keep our City safe.

‘24hrs in Wrexham City’

08:30 Call from the Maelor Hospital reporting a patient has failed to return. Officers have attended, taken details and enquires are still ongoing to locate the individual.

09:33 Shoplifting reported at Town Centre store – First of many for yesterday.

12:52 Reports of a male taking photos of people’s properties and acting suspicious. Officers attend and establish he works for a property management company that owns the buildings – details are checked and all is in order.

16:26 Reports of a bike being stolen at McDonalds in Town, officers attend and recover the bike with a wanted man riding it. He is arrested and taken to Llay Custody.

17:37 Alarm activation at Wrexham Racecourse ground – Officers attend to find contractors on site and all in order.

22:24 A male is assaulted and abused by his neighbour who is intoxicated. Officers attend and locate the suspect in a nearby garden, behind a hedge. Male was arrested, interviewed and bailed with conditions for further enquires.

We have the Offa Carnival this weekend which looks fabulous Offa Carnival on this weekend in Bellevue Park – Wrexham.com so fingers crossed for sunshine .

Have a great weekend, stay safe and enjoy the weather.

Mike
