Power cuts have briefly affected areas of Wrexham late this evening.

UPDATE 11:20pm: All power appears to have been restored, hopefully some point tomorrow we can find out what happened and why!

PCJEC from Kings Mills said “house alarms all going off” due to it, with David reporting Llwyn Onn Park estate being blacked out for a while.

The power ‘flickered’ in parts of town with Caia and Hightown areas affected, and further out up in the Moss and Gwersyllt and across to Marchwiel area also suffering a mini blackout.

Niky has told us: “Just got home to The Fairways and all the clocks are flashing, and all the house alarms are going off, so our power has been off.”

This Wrexham.com reporter’s lights flickered on and off briefly, however power appears constant now.

We have checked the SP Energy alert page, but for postcodes that were affected it is still reading “There are currently no faults detected in the area.” You can check your postcode by clicking here.

Some reported brief outages, with others saying the issues persisted:

Adam may have a solution though, saying: “Wobble in Gresford. I gave the hamster in his wheel a wotsit and now he’s back on track!”
