Kelloggs are looking to cut around 30 roles at their plant on Wrexham Industrial Estate.

A Kelloggs representative told us this afternoon that up to 30 roles could be cut, but will ‘hopefully be on on a voluntary basis’.

The full statement released by the American firm is below.

“We have a compelling business need to better align our assets with marketplace trends and customer requirements,” said Mike Pilkington, Vice President Supply Chain, Kellogg’s Europe.

“As a result, we are proposing some changes to ensure our manufacturing network is operating the right number of production lines – in the right locations – to better meet current and future production needs and the evolving needs of our customers.”

“It is likely that this will result in potentially 30 roles being removed from Wrexham, with this number achieved on a voluntary basis. All available options will be carefully explored before any changes are implemented. And as you’d expect from a company like Kellogg, if there is an impact to employees, we will help them through their transitions with outplacement services and support.”

As we noted back in 2014 Kelloggs are still using an identikit press statement with the ‘We have a compelling business need to better align our assets with marketplace trends and customer requirements‘ opener.
