Boy Racers on Island Green are a ‘pain in the arse’ according to nearby resident Alex Jones.

Mr Jones says hes reported anti social behaviour three times via the police 101 system but has seen no progress in solving the issue.

“When I am watching CSI on television late on a Friday all I can hear is a dickhead revving his engine metres away from me”

“Fair play to the police they are going to it and responding, but the boy racers are there every night. Unless the police put a car there every day of the week to stop these guys nothing can be done and doing that is impractical. Something needs to be done.”

Mr Jones says the residents have written to the owners of Island Green but have had no response.

“Residents are losing sleep. One person has already moved out, as she has a new born baby. The boy racers have moved from the Border Retail Park to Matalan carpark and now Island Green. They are a bloody nuisance.”

Clr Phil Wynn and Alex Jones were introduced to each other at today’s Town Centre Forum meeting and Mr Wynn has promised to look into the matter.
