Investigation launched after arson attack in Llwyneinion Woods

An investigation into an arson attack which saw “one tonne of used tyres” set alight in Llwyneinion woods has been launched.

Fire crews from Wrexham, Chirk and Llangollen were called to the blaze, which took place yesterday (Tuesday 17 November) morning some time between 8am and 9:30am.

Police say that offender/s deliberately ignited tyres and a trailer on the site. Some damage was also casued to the woodland habitat.

A police spokesperson said: “If anyone saw suspicious activity, persons or vehicles in the area at or around this time, or can think of any reason why the location should be targeted in this way; the information would be appreciated.
