A new and improved visitor car park at Erddig is set to reopen in time for the upcoming Easter Holidays.

Work at the National Trust site has been ongoing at the main Orchard car park since January in a bid to improve drainage.

It comes after a series of floods at the car park in spring 2018.

With some additional nature-friendly landscaping and support from the Woodland Trust build in more hedgerows, the new scheme will see more cars parked on the specially designed surfaces throughout the year without spoiling the countryside feel when visitors arrive.

General Manager Jamie Watson said: “We had to close twelve times last year due to flooding in the car park which has a massive impact on us and those wishing to visit.

“We’re incredibly grateful to our regular visitors who have been bearing with us during the planned works and we look forward to welcoming everyone into an all-weather car park this spring.”
