The creative work carried out by local artists who occupy studio space at a town centre gallery is being showcased at a new exhibition.

Pop-up creative space Undegun, which is located in the former JJB store on Regent Street will be playing host to studio holder’s exhibition ‘Ignite’ until March.

Since opening in 2013 Undegun has become the home for practicing artists and a wide range of talented local people, who have joined forces to exhibit their work as a collective within the creative space.

THIS Project have been operating the pop-up arts centre for over two and a half years and has attracted over 50,000 visitors since opening its doors.

For many of the artists the work will be built on site and developed within the space, so this is a great opportunity to preview the exhibition and find out how the work progresses over time.

Undegun has 15 artists who work from the building, with work going on around the clock.

A spokesperson for THIS Project said: “For many of the participants the career paths to the arts and creative industries vary tremendously and being able to demonstrate to people that there are numerous avenues within the arts can be an interesting insight in to the industry.

“The exhibition is all about supporting the artists that have their studios in Undegun and throughout North Wales, and how they support each other. For the open access element the artists will be leaving their normal studio environment and developing their work within the gallery allowing visitors to see how the creative process works.

“So if you would like to come down for the open studio before the exhibition please feel free to as Undegun is open to the public Wednesday to Saturday 12-4pm, from January 20th and beyond.”

The exhibition will run Wednesday – Saturday 12-4pm
 up until March.

Artist’s information will be out shortly but for more information please feel free to visit the THIS Projcect website: www.thisproject.co.uk, Twitter @thishq or Facebook page: www.facebook.com/thisproject/.
