Who owns or drives this car? Hit and run car found concealed in field near Industrial Estate

A vehicle involved in a hit and run which left a man seriously injured was found hidden in a field last night.

The car, a SAAB 93, was involved in the crash outside the Co-op on Poplar Road at 5:20pm on Wednesday evening.

A male pedestrian sustained serious injuries as a result of the incident and has been taken to hospital in Stoke for treatment.

Police say the offender was seen driving away from the town with a smashed windscreen. An appeal to trace the vehicle was launched soon after the crash.

Late last night it was confirmed that the suspect vehicle had been found by police concealed in a field near Is-y-Coed, near to Wrexham Industrial Estate.

The vehicle is a SAAB 93 in a champagne colour registration number RV58 WVF, pictured above.

Any witnesses who have any knowledge of the owner / driver of the vehicle are urged to make contact with police by calling 101 quoting reference V176866
