Wrexham’s most playful and fun-filled event will return next month with a virtual twist.

Playday, which will take place on August 5, normally attracts thousands of people to Wrexham town centre each year for a day filled with games and activities.

Although the event is unable to go ahead in its normal form this year, children and families will be able to take part in Wrexham’s most playful event next month from the comfort of their own homes.

The Wrexham Play and Youth support Team have been working with their partners to move Playday online so that you can join us from your own homes.

The theme of the event is ‘Everyday Adventures’ and you can play along with the things you find in your own homes.

Wrexham will also be supporting Play Wales as it makes a noise for Children’s Play at 2:00, so grab your pots and pans, musical instruments or just clap to show that you value children’s Play.

Cllr Andrew Atkinson, Lead Member for Children’s Services said, “I am really excited about this year’s Playday.

“It’s always a fantastic day, and even though this year will be different, there will still be lots of fun to be had with loads of interactive videos and activities to join in with online.

“I hope everyone takes the time on Wednesday, August 5 to check out the videos and join in in any way they can!”

Wrexham Council are currently making films for the day, so if you want to learn to juggle, do some craft, watch a puppet show, play some games or even hear the Mayor’s own Wrexham based Rapunzel then find us using the following WCBC social media accounts:
