We noticed our live Weather feed on Wrexham.com/weather ( and fed to twitter via @wrexhamweather) slowly creep up to 28C then 29C! We dug deeper into the minute by minute stats to see if it broke the 30C barrier – which it did!

30.3C at 3:40pm was our highest reading, and looking around it seems we were pretty much the best around with the independent Chester weather station clocked in at a 28.0C high at 2pm.

BBC weather, using their station in Hawarden to model the data had Wrexham down as a 24C reading and Chester at 25C – both quite wrong! We are trailing some of the Met Office’s ‘open data’ modelling , which had us down for 25C.

The coming days will see us still in the 20’s but we think today’s peak wont be broken, but with the good weather ending on the tail end of Monday and Tuesday still being warm around 18C but will feel really cold considering the weather we have right now!
