Hightown Mains Burst Fixed – But Expect Discoloured Water
A mains burst has been fixed this morning, but many people across town have been told to expect discoloured water as a result.
The initial Dee Valley report read: “We are receiving reports of a burst water main near to the traffic lights at the junction of Kings Mills Road and Salop Road, Hightown, Wrexham. Our engineers have been deployed to investigate. It is possible that properties in Hightown and the surrounding area in Wrexham may experience no water or poor pressure as a result. It is also possible that some properties may experience discoloured water.”
@wrexham appears watermain burst and tarmac lifted next to traffic lights in Hightown. I predicted Monday morning is going to be fun.

The update via the website and telephone calls to people around 9am said: “Our engineers have confirmed a mains burst on a large diameter main near the traffic lights in Hightown. The section leaking has been isolated and repairs are being organised. Supplies should have returned to properties in this area but it is possible that due to the interruption some may experience discoloured or aerated water. If this occurs, please run at your cold kitchen tap until clear. We apologise for any inconvenience caused but be assured we are working to restore supplies to normal as soon as possible.”
