A band from Wrexham and Llangollen are due to play a festival in Korea this September, following links made via the Wrexham based FOCUS Wales event.

After a whirlwind year for Campfire Social which has seen them make huge strides in the music industry with their ‘Wellbeing’ EP, and resulting sets at FOCUS Wales 2017, airplay via BBC 6 Music, playlisted by Radio Wales, and invites to perform at festivals such as the Llangollen Fringe, and Festival No.6, the Llangollen and Wrexham based five piece are now winning over new fans around the world – with Korea next.

This Welsh band have been invited to perform a series of shows as selected international guest artists during the major Asian music industry event Zandari Festa in Korea, which takes place in Seoul in late September.

The opportunity materialised after a new partnership was struck between the Wrexham based FOCUS Wales festival and Seoul’s Zandari Festa, resulting in Campfire Social being selected to represent Wales at the Korean event in 2017. The festival attracts thousands of new music fans, and music industry representatives worldwide, providing the band with a unique opportunity to preview new material and raise their profile.

Guitarist Thom Hyndman said: “This is a great opportunity for the band. Zandari Festa is a massive event, so we’re all really
excited, and grateful to FOCUS Wales for making it possible.

“The tour is being supported by Wales Arts International, as part of the International Opportunities scheme, which offers support for Wales based artists to undertake international visits, aimed at the development of international work outside of the UK.”

The Zandari Festa take place in Seoul, Korea 29th September – 1st October 2017 – and you can find out more via zfesta.com/en/.
