Last night fire crews attended a fire in Johnstown, believed to have been started deliberately.

Just before midnight last night a car by a council garage in Heol Y Cyngor in Johnstown was set alight.

Mark, a local resident, told us this morning: “Firecrews and police attended and a fireman confirmed to myself he believed it arson and an accelerant was used.

“A motability car in the garage was destroyed.”

Lesley sent us the above picture of the area this morning saying it shows ‘damage to the garage, fence and remains of the car”.

Lesley also noted: “It wasn’t a garage that was set alight.

“It was a disability car that spread & set fire to the garage and my elderly parent’s garden fence.”

(We are currently unable to gain official information, and will update when we do.)
