Further arrests made and eight due to appear in court as part of Operation Lancelot

Four more arrests have been made in Wrexham as part an investigation into the supply of Class A drugs.

Police say as part of Operation Lancelot three women and one man have been arrested following warrants in the Ponciau and Gwenfro area.

The individuals are now in custody in Llay.

Following a series of warrants carried out on Monday a spokesperson for North Wales Police confirmed eight people arrested have been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and will appear at Llandudno Magistrates today – Ben Brown , 30 from East Avenue, Todd Brown, 25 from Hazel Grove, Jake Rowley, 23 from Wyndham Gardens, Tia Platt , 19 from Gwenfro, Sean Skimmings, 29 from Hullah Lane, Bradley Sandford, 24 from Y Wern, Mathew Royce, 30 from Tryweryn Place and James Royce, 29 from Portal Avenue

Over 50 officers were involved in the raids on Monday morning and eight properties were simultaneously raided with addresses on East Avenue, Hazel Grove, Wyndham Gardens, Tryweryn Place, Hullah Lane, Portal Avenue – and two addresses on Y Wern.

Speaking on Monday Chief Inspector Stephen Roberts said: “The operation has been five months in the planning and is ongoing.

“We are investigating a Wrexham- based organised crime gang supplying heroin and crack cocaine.

“This criminality causes so much misery for people and I would like thank the community for the intelligence and support they have given us to enable us to carry out this operation.”
