A celebration of independent venues will take place in Wrexham next month courtesy of FOCUS WALES.

The team behind the annual Wrexham music festival will be working alongside SXSW to present an exciting show at The Live Rooms (former Central Station) in the town on Friday 1st February.

It will take place during Independent Venue Week – a seven day celebration of small music venues around the country and a nod to the people that own, run and work in them, week in, week out.

These venues give artists their first experience of playing live in front of an audience and for fans, somewhere to get up close to artists that one day, may well be playing stadiums and festival main stages.

The Wrexham show will feature performances from two of the nation’s most hotly tipped artists Gallops and Kidsmoke, who will both be flying the flag for Wales at SXSW festival in Austin, Texas this March.

The bands will be joined by much hyped newcomers Glove, who have been taken under the wing of the award winning author and music journalist John Robb.
