Fire services were called to maes-y-coed in gwersyllt at 1:03am this morning to deal with a fire on a pile of rubbish. Two appliances from Wrexham attended.

We were told by a local resident “I was awoken just after 1am by a huge bang, and when looking out the window a car was completely on fire, flames were about 8ft high. Fire service arrived quickly and soon put it out.”

The fire service told us it was suspected that the fire was deliberately started and did not have a mention of a car being involved.
