A Christmas festival will take place in Coedpoeth this weekend with plenty of festive fun and games expected.

The event will kick-off at Plas Pentwyn at 11am on Saturday November 26 with stalls, a Santa Grotto, live music and entertainment.

At 3:30pm, a lantern parade will be held through the village leading to St Tudfil’s Church, where members of the public will gather for festive music – with choirs including The James Lambert Singers and All Aloud, the community choir which rehearses at Coedpoeth’s parish hall.

And a 4:50pm, the light switch-on will take place, followed by an evening of entertainment at The Golden Lion.

Cllr Krista Childs, local member for Coedpoeth, said: “We’re all very much looking forward to this event, and we hope it will bring the same community spirit to the village that our successful summer carnival did.

“We encourage everyone to come along and enjoy some of the Christmas spirit that Coedpoeth has to offer.”

The event is jointly organised by Coedpoeth Community Council, St Tudfil’s Church and Plas Pentwyn.
