One of the biggest events in Wrexham’s Christmas calendar will be filling the town’s streets with festive spirit this week.

The Victorian Christmas Market, which attracts thousands of people to the town each year, will return between midday and 8pm on Thursday 6th December.

Previous year’s have seen the event confined to the grounds of St Giles Church – however due to growing visitor figures and demand, last year’s market was the first to include town centre streets.

Thursday’s event is set to be bigger than ever before, with stalls spilling out from the grounds of St Giles, across the newly paved Hope Street and Queens Street and through to Queens Square.

This year will also see the inclusion of Henblas Street in the Victorian Market.

More than 100 stalls will fill the streets selling festive food and drinks, unique gifts, crafts and plenty of Christmas goodies.

The market will also feature Victorian street entertainers, a Ferris wheel and even a traditional carousel – so bring your kids (or the young at heart) along!

The following roads will be closed to traffic from 6am.

• Church Street
• High Street
• Hope Street
• Henblas Street
• Queen Street

Blue badge holders will still be able to access High Street.

Parking will also be FREE after 4pm in all council owned car parks!

The event also symbolises the start of free parking (council owned car parks only) for late night shopping which will continue on December 13th and 20th when shops are encouraged to stay open late.
