Father Christmas heads back into Wrexham town centre this Thursday as part of the festive run-up.

Father Christmas will be joined by Rodney the Lazy Reindeer as they make their way through town for the Candy Christmas Carnival.

The Route:

The Candy Christmas Carnival will set-off from Lambpit Street at 5.45pm, and travel along Chester Street, High Street, Hope Street, Regent Street, Duke Street and Lord Street – before arriving at Queens Square just after 6pm.

Members of the public are encouraged to wear fancy dress – and even bring a lantern if they can. There are lantern-making instructions, along with information about Christmas events, on the Wrexham Council website www.wrexham.gov.uk

When Father Christmas arrives in Queens Square, he’ll go straight to his new ‘gingerbread grotto’ and the entertainment will kick-off, with music, fairground stalls and rides, food, costume characters, entertainment from ‘Alfie the Elf’ and a chance to meet that lazy reindeer, Rodney.

The Gingerbread Grotto will be open until 8pm and then daily until Christmas Eve.

For more information telephone Wrexham Tourist Information Centre on 01978 292015.
