Wrexham’s new look Register Office has been given the thumbs up.

The Deputy Registrar for England and Wales, Susan Salmon, visited Wrexham to officially open the new facility, which is now based at the Guildhall.

Mrs Salmon was taken on a tour of the building and facilities, and joined the Mayor of Wrexham, I David Bithell MBE, to unveil a commemorative plaque.

She had decided to visit Wrexham to find out more about the new look office, which recently relocated to the Guildhall.

The move means that couples can marry or form a Civil Partnership in the new Ceremonies Room which will seat up to 40 guests. Llwyn Isaf also provides a stunning background for photos.

Baby changing & nursing facilities will be available on the ground and first floors of the Guildhall, which improved parking nearby.

Leader of the Council, Cllr Neil Rogers said:

“Susan really enjoyed meeting everyone and learning more about our historic town and particularly the move to the Guildhall.

“The fact that Susan was interested in visiting us was a glowing assessment of our staff and it was great for her to see this excellent new facility
