A female in her 30s has died after being ‘found’ near the Aqueduct yesterday.

At approximately 2pm yesterday North Wales Police were contacted by North Wales Ambulance Service to attend a report that a female had died near the aqueduct in Froncysyllte.

It is believed the woman was from the Wrexham area and was 37-years-old.

North Wales Police say the next of kin had been informed and the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Wrexham.com was contacted by people yesterday who said they were by the aqueduct regarding the emergency service response, including some involved in the Acrefair vs Garden Village football match on the nearby playing fields.

The aqueduct was shut off for access for a period of time and has since reopened.
