A cyclist has been taken to hospital following a collision in Wrexham Town Centre earlier this afternoon.

At around 2pm this afternoon Wrexham.com received reports that a cyclist had been injured near Island Green in the town centre. It is believed that a car was also involved in the incident.

One person told Wrexham.com: “People had got out of their cars and we’re hold the man straight/still in the middle of the roundabout.”

As a result of the incident there was temporary congestion around the Island Green Roundabout and near Watery Road.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed they were called to the incident, saying:
“We were called at just before 2.10pm today Tuesday 20th October to reports of a male having come off a pushbike near Island Green, Bradley Rd, Wrexham.

“We responded with an Emergency Ambulance and a male adult was conveyed to the Maelor Hospital with a non-life threatening injury.”
