North Wales Crusaders RFLC has invited investment offers, which could see a controlling interest in the club being sold ‘in the right circumstances’.

In a statement issued this morning the Board of the club say they are “inviting formal expressions of interest from parties with a genuine wish to invest significant funds in the club, and enable it to continue on its successful path in the 2016 League 1 competition and beyond, following the stepping down of its former CEO and majority shareholder, Jamie Thomas.”

The offer notes that the Board is “willing and able to make available a meaningful shareholding, which could, in the right circumstances, be a majority or controlling interest.”

North Wales Crusaders are the only professional rugby league club in North Wales, having been established in 2011, following the demise of the former Crusaders Super League club.

In the last 4 seasons, the club has won the Championship One Bowl, the i-Pro Cup, and the Championship One League Leaders Shield.

The statement notes: “With attendances surpassing four figures and a playing staff and squad poised to make a real impact in League 1 this season, the Board feel that all the ingredients are in place for a successful return to the Championship in early course and, at the right time, to Super League.”

Further information is available from the club, upon written request to “[email protected]” headed “INVESTMENT”. The club asks that requests should be accompanied by full contact details, including full name, address, landline and mobile telephone numbers.

A deadline of midday on 4th March has been placed for expressions of interest.
