As a result of the collision there is currently heavy traffic for those travelling on the A483 northbound to Chester and for those using the A55 – with traffic currently backed up for several miles.

The incident is also affecting traffic heading away from North Wales towards the M53.

Jacqueline told Wrexham.com: “Standing traffic on A55 Chester to Wrexham @wrexham @wrexhamcbc already taken an hour from M53 junction to before Wrexham turnoff.”

Emma said: “Avoid A483 currently. Taken 50mins to get from Wrexham to Chester, hope all involved are okay. #drivesafe.”

Jess added: “Been stuck on the A55 for just over an hour!!!!”
