Residents in Wrexham are being urged to remain vigilant following an increase in the number of cold callers targeting elderly home owners.

In recent weeks Wrexham Police have received an increase in reports of cold calling on elderly and vulnerable persons.

The reports have involved males who have been requesting money for work which is not complete, or have been over pricing for work completed. Police believe that the males are using a white Transit Van.

Sgt Richards from Eastern Police Community Safety is asking people to inform elderly neighbours and relatives about this information.

If you see any suspicious males or vehicles please record details and inform 101 quoting S137498 (which refers to a previous incident). Eastern Police Community Safety can be contacted on 01978 348197
