Shoppers and visitors to Wrexham can rejoice with the introduction of cheaper car parking in one of the town centre’s biggest car parks.

From Friday 1st April visitors to the town centre can take advantage of the reintroduction of three hour parking at Waterworld / Crown Buildings Car Park, which will be available Monday-Friday for £2.

There will also be the introduction of a £2 all day charge at Waterworld and Crown Buildings for those visiting the town on Saturdays and Sundays.

Speaking about the introduction of the £2 charge, Cllr David A Bithell, said: “It is important that we use our car parks efficiently and that they are of benefit to the town centre. The new charges have been agreed to support the local economy and encourage more people into Wrexham.”

There are also plans to bring back free parking days in all council owned car parks for a number of popular town centre events throughout the year.

Free parking in council owned car parks will be available for the Wrexham Food and Drink Festival on May 14th/15th May, the Annual Play Day on August 3rd and Small Business Saturday on December 3rd.

Christmas shoppers can also benefit from free car parking in the People’s Market in the three Saturdays leading up to Christmas.
