Plans for a change of use for two town centre shops have been put forward.

The application lodged with Wrexham Council seeks permission to change both 21 to 23 Regent Street from Class A1 Retail to Class A2 Financial and Professional Services.

If approved the change of use will mean the space can be used for the likes of financial services (ie. building societies and banks) and professional services (ie. an estate agents or employment agencies).

The shops themselves are the former Yeomans and Clarks – which has been vacant since its relocation to Eagles Meadow back in 2014.

However the shops have been listed as being ‘let’ for sometime, with the windows of both properties covered up.

The plans, which has been submitted by Savills on behalf of the applicant, seem to indicate that the properties will be made into one large unit – with the wall between them removed.

New frontage, including doors, windows and signage are also proposed for the properties.

The application will be considered for approval at a later date.
