Road Reopens After Cement Mixer Overturns On Roundabout

UPDATE 3pm: Recovery work completed, overturned cement mixer removed, road re-opened, traffic returned to normal.

The ambulance service said they were called at 10.35am this morning to a one-vehicle road traffic accident on the Holt roundabout in the Llan y Pwll area of Wrexham.

“We sent a crew in an emergency ambulance to the scene, who were supported by an ambulance officer, and a man was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”

A cement mixer has overturned on the new link road roundabout towards the Industrial Estate.

The A534 near the Llan-Y-Pwll roundabout is currently closed both ways after a cement mixer overturned on the road earlier this afternoon.

Carl told Wrexham.com that the incident has taken on the roundabout, near Clay’s Golf Club

Emergency services are in attendance at the scene with police diverting traffic away from the area. A tweet sent out by NWP Control Room says: “RTC A534 Llan y Pwll Wrexham new roundabout by Ind est. Rd partially blocked. Possible Delays. Please avoid if poss whilst recovery ongoing”

Initially it was believed the incident involved an overturned tanker, however onlookers have since states that the vehicle is a cement mixer.

Recovery work on removing the vehicle from the area is underway, with Heavy lifting equipment attempting to move the vehicle.

There is no indication at present as to when the road will reopen fully.
