Two caravans in Wrexham have been left destroyed after they were set alight by arsonists overnight.

Fire crews were called to an incident on Pont-y-Capel Lane in Gresford involving a touring caravan that had been set alight shortly after 10:41pm last night.

A hose reel and a thermal imaging camera was used to extinguish the blaze.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were also called to an incident involving a towing caravan and four gas cylinders set alight on Cross Lanes, Pentre Broughton at 4:23am this morning.

Three pumps from Wrexham attended the blaze and two hose reels, one jet and a thermal imaging camera were used to extinguish the blaze.

The caravan was left with 100% fire damage and the cause of the incident is believed to be deliberate ignition.

There have been three caravan fires in Wrexham over the past three days, with crews also called to a blaze in Rhosllannerchrugog over the weekend.
