Get ready to dash through a sea of bubbles and clouds of bright colours! A unique event with a colourful twist is launching in Wrexham this September.

Bangor on Dee Racecourse will once again find itself covered in paint and bubbles when the runners at one of North Wales’ most popular events comes under starters orders on Sunday 4th September.

The highly successful Nightingale House Rainbow Run, which annually sees over 1,000 participants tackle the 4km course whilst getting plastered in different coloured powered paint, has been developed further to make the run even more fun.

Sponsored by Moneypenny, the combined ‘Rainbow Dash Bubble Bash’, will be the first of its type in Wales much as the original Rainbow Run was back in 2013.

Speaking about the new event, fundraiser Sam Eastwood said: “If the paint doesn’t get you, the bubbles will.

“The last two runs have been extremely popular with runners of all ages but we’re always looking at ways to make our events even more fun. The combining of the Rainbow Run with another popular event, the Bubble Bash, seemed the obvious way forward.

“Seeing Bangor on Dee Racecourse covered in clouds of paint is spectacular enough but adding the bubbles should make it even more exciting.

“It’s a great way for the whole family to have real fun and raise much needed funds for Nightingale House at the same time. Interest is already high and we are expecting a record entry for the run, which is fantastic.”

Registration for the Rainbow Run is £18 for adults, £9 for children with a family ticket available. This includes an event t-shirt, sunglasses and a well earned bacon sandwich at the end. The minimum participant age is eight years old, and anyone aged between eight and eighteen must be accompanied by a registered adult.

To register for the Rainbow Run or to find out more information, visit the Nightingale House Hospice website or contact the hospice’s fundraising team on 01978 314292 or [email protected].
