The Post Office has announced it is set to reopen a branch in Brymbo following it’s closure earlier this year.

Under proposals being consulted upon the Post Office will reopen in January at Brymbo Enterprise Centre at Blast Road as part of the UK Government’s 1.34bn modernisation plan to prevent further permanent closures.

Since the closure local residents have had to travel to neighbouring facilities Brynteg and Southsea creating difficulties for many elderly residents in the village.

The Post Office will be the latest addition to Brymbo Enterprise Centre, a community focussed building which provides a range of services for the community such as a children’s daycare nursery, cafe and sports hall.

County Councillor for Brymbo Paul Rogers who played a keynrole in the discussions “said: “The proposal to reopen a Post Office in Brymbo is excellent news for the community. As County Councillor I know how important this is for local residents and I am delighted to have been involved in the discussions during recent months with Brymbo Enterprise Centre to reopen the Post Office.

“I made a commitment to work with interested parties to reopen the Post Office and am pleased we have made significant progress. I would hope that the proposed new Post Office will be supported by residents and prove to be a success for the community and Enterprise Centre.

“I would ask residents to contact me if have any questions and I will be happy to discuss the proposals.”

Details of the consultation are available at Brymbo Enterprise Centre and notices around the community.
