Brymbo GP Clinic set to reopen after health board agrees to new branch surgery
A Brymbo GP clinic is set to reopen after Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board agreed to a new branch surgery.
Councillor Paul Rogers confirmed the news that work is ongoing to reopen a GP Surgery in Brymbo for the long term.
Cllr Rogrs, who has been having regular meetings with the health board to secure a GP surgery for the village said the proposal had now been given green light.
Commenting he said: “Over the past year I have held a number of meetings and been working with the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board to secure the reopening of the GP surgery in Brymbo”
“Over recent months there has been a lot of work taking place whcih I have supported.
“I can confirm that the Health Board have now given the green light to a proposal which will see the Clinic at Offa Street reopen
“A neighbouring GP surgery who have an excellent reputation is set to expand and fill the gap which currently exists and I understand that once the surgery does open that Brymbo residents will have the option to transfer to the new Practice.
“I want to thank everyone at the Practice and the Health Board for the work on this proposal”
“Last week a meeting took place on site to discuss how the building can be improved both internally and externally for the benefit of the community and patients and I hope the Health Board consider and follow up on the issues raised”
“This is great news for Brymbo and I will keep residents updated as soon as I have more details.”
Dr Chris Stockport, Executive Director for Primary & Community Care, said: “We are working with the practice to ensure the reopening of the clinic is a success.
“We hope this will be completed as soon as possible, following some minor adjustments to the building.”
