Wrexham’s B&M Bargains is set to relocate to a larger premises next month, with demand from customers for a bigger shop cited as one of the reasons for the move.

Back in June Wrexham.com reported that the national brand were due to take over the former PC World and Au Naturale units on Central Retail Park.

B&M Bargains has had a presence on Regent Street in the town centre for a number of years and following June’s announcement there was uncertainty locally on whether or not the store would remain open.

Details on the B&M Bargains website had stated that the Regent Street store would close next month, with a spokesperson for the company confirming yesterday that the current store will close its doors for the final time on Saturday 2nd September.

The store will reopen in its new home, spanning across 23,000 sq ft, on Central Retail Park on Saturday 9th September.

B&M Bargains say the move comes as a result of regular feedback from customers who said they wanted to see a bigger shop and even more products on offer locally.

Currently the Wrexham store employs 24 colleagues, but the bigger space will see them taking on an additional 35 colleagues.

Described as ‘one of the UK’s fastest growing retailers’, B&M Bargains offers everything from toys, food and drink, a pet range, health and beauty and homewares.

Neil Howell, Store Manager of B&M Wrexham: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.

“We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers through the door in a few weeks.”

Job roles are advertised on the B&M website – roles range from sale assistant to floor managers and cleaners, there are a mixture of full and part time positions – temporary and permanent.
