In reaction to alleged drug dealing in Rhosddu an individual has taken it upon themselves to hold the apparent dealer’s bike wheel hostage.

We are told by someone who wishes to remain anonymous of their frustrations over drug dealing in parts of Rhosddu: “There’s been a lot of day time drug dealing on East Avenue in Rhosddu. My young sister said ‘oh look mum, the bad man is hear to get his gear again’, for a child to know that is wrong.”

“There are lots of kids and elderly people around here too, with dealing in broad daylight on a normal road.”

“Police haven’t been able to catch them in the act yet either.”

Talking about the spontaneous ‘hostage taking’ of the alleged dealers wheel, we were told the bike was targeted as the ‘dealer’ is easily identifiable: “The chap that always stands at the bus stop leaves his bike locked in various places, me and the boyfriend took his wheel off.”

“We though he would find it, we went back ten minutes later and the bike had gone but the wheel had been left. The best bit is that he’s obviously wheeled it away with one wheel.”

In a clear message to the person they believe was dealing drugs they said, “We’ve taken it, stop dealing on our streets!”

Asked if they would return the wheel if the person agreed to cease dealing drugs we are told: “I would agree to leave it somewhere and then he would be told where”.
