‘Best Bar None’ Scheme Comes To Wrexham
A scheme to find the ‘Best Bar None’ in Wrexham town centre has been launched.
The scheme, which focuses on the public safety and customer care provided by licensed premises will be open to all licensed Restaurants, Pubs, Bars and Clubs in Wrexham town centre area.
Best Bar None has been running in the UK for over 10 years and is growing in popularity with many Cities and Towns operating the scheme as an example of best practice.
The scheme examines public safety and customer care and offers each premises an opportunity to demonstrate that it is focused on the licensing objectives of Prevention of Crime and Disorder, Public Safety, Prevention of Public Nuisance and Protection of Children from Harm.
The accreditation demonstrates that premises are run within the law and recognises and rewards best practice.
As this is the first year the scheme has taken place in Wrexham, applications are restricted to the main town centre area. However it is hoped the scheme will extend to businesses outside of the town centre in the next few years.
Premises that are involved will undertake an examination of procedures and processes by Council officers, Police
and Fire Safety.
In total there are 35 bronze criteria and premises must achieve all of them to gain accreditation. They must also achieve the necessary accreditation in order to achieve silver and gold standards.
The overall winner and the individual category winners will be decided by a panel of judges.
