Batten down the hatches! Yellow weather alert for strong to gale force winds overnight

Batten down the hatches and your wheelie bins – there’s some gale force winds on the way tonight!

The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for strong to gale force winds between 9pm this evening and 9am tomorrow morning.

Outbreaks of heavy rain are also forecast with strong to gale force westerly winds bringing gusts of 40-50 mph, some could reach 60 of mph.

The weather warning is in place across much of of Wales and the north of England.

Details released by the Met Office state: “Whilst this weather is not unusual for the time of year, it brings the potential for disruption to transport, tree damage and temporary power cuts.”
