Police are appealing for witnesses after a car fire in the Hightown area over the weekend.

The black Ford Galaxy was found “well ablaze” by officers on patrol in a car park at the rear of Jarmin Avenue.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at 2:04am.

One crew from Wrexham attended the incident and one hose reel jet and one set of breathing apparatus was used to extinguish the fire.

Wrexham town inspector Luke Hughes is now appealing for witnesses to come forward after two people were seen in the area at that time.

Insp Hughes said: “Initial enquiries suggest that two persons were seen in the vicinity of the location and so I would appeal for any CCTV or sightings and for contact on 101 or via the NWP chat facility quoting 21000412470 should you have any information relevant.”
