Another car was set alight deliberately this morning in Hightown.

The formally black Vauxhall Astra suffered 100% engine and smoke damage.

The fire service used one hose reel along with breathing apparatus to put out the fire after they were called to the incident on Greenbank Road off Derby Road at 6:28am this morning.

The vehicle was believed to be parked normally overnight and had not been stolen.

It has been confirmed as ‘deliberate ignition’, following the grim trend of several recent car fires in Wrexham.

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101 with reference number S172610.
