More than 100,000 of the most vulnerable people in North Wales have now been invited to receive their COVID-19 Autumn booster vaccine.

Many thousands more appointment letters will be delivered to eligible people throughout North Wales over the coming weeks as our campaign continues to ramp up.

By the end of this week they health board say their vaccination teams will have visited all care homes in our area to offer residents additional protection against COVID-19.

They said, “Completing this first phase of the campaign with the most vulnerable people in our communities will allow our vaccination teams to focus on inviting more patients to our network of local vaccination centres.

“Our teams also continue to contact housebound patients to arrange for them to receive their COVID-19 Autumn booster vaccine.

“So far, we have delivered more than 33,000 doses of the COVID-19 Autumn booster vaccine.”

They also added some useful info:

Please wait to receive your appointment

If you are eligible for a COVID-19 Autumn booster but have not yet received your appointment please do be patient.

We will write to you with details of your appointment. We are sending appointments to people eligible for the vaccine in order of clinical need, as advised by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation.

Please wait to receive an invitation for your vaccination appointment. There is no need to contact us.

Your appointment may be held at a community vaccination centre near your home or at your GP surgery. Your letter will include all the details you need, including date, time and location.

Thank you for attending your appointment

We would like to thank patients across North Wales for coming forward for their COVID-19 Autumn booster vaccinations in such high numbers.

As in previous campaigns, our team is working hard to deliver a very large number of vaccination appointments every day. Please help us by attending your scheduled slot if you can.

If it is not possible for you to attend your appointment, you will be able to rearrange by following the instructions on your letter.

Check your eligibility for the COVID-19 Autumn booster and your flu vaccine

You can check if you are eligible for a COVID-19 Autumn booster and the flu vaccine here.

Where possible, you may be offered your COVID-19 Autumn booster and flu vaccinations at the same time. It is safe and effective for you to receive both vaccines at the same time. In most cases, for practical delivery reasons you will be invited to receive the vaccines at two separate appointments.

We remain concerned about an increasing trend of COVID-19 admissions to hospitals, as well as reports of a severe flu season in Australia. Please protect yourself this winter – make sure you take up your invitation to receive both your COVID-19 Autumn booster and flu vaccine as soon as possible.
