Christmas begins for me when I hear the Salvation Band playing carols in town, going to the first carol service and as you say Nativity plays.

I don’t remember having coca cola in those days either. I wouldn’t have wasted it on cleaning coins anyway.

I do just about. We always had a silver joey in our Christmas pudding. Nobody ever swallowed it fortunately. Farthings had a little robin on the back. About the same size as new halfpennies.

Actually, no Jane I don’t. It was £/s/d, feet & inches & lbs & oz when I was in school.

Seems to me that they break the windows in the roof of the Butchers Market, break into the Cancer Charity shop & other places instead nowadays. Scum, the lot of them. Who pays for all that? Not the little darlings who commit the crime. They just get a slap on the wrist & a little bit of community service if they are caught. The small businesses are the ones who lose out & their insurance premiums go up if they claim. Why would you bother?

Wind Farms are not only ugly they are noisy & depressing too. I was in Cumbria quite recently and needed to ask directions. Not easy when they are everywhere. I only knew that the business I needed to find was by a wind farm & the postcode covered a large area. Still somebody had to invent the wheel I suppose. If they had kicked up a fuss then perhaps we wouldn’t have be troubled with pollution today.

Does anyone know if the gas company has applied for planning permission for fracking yet? I would imagine that it will be headline news. I’m concerned by the amount of water that will be used due to water shortages in the summer? I notice that there are a few scaremongers who obviously don’t know the first thing about coal mines or mining.

Have you been up to Cumbria? A beautiful part of the country like Wales with wind farms everywhere. They have nuclear power too. I wouldn’t like to have any of them in my backyard.

Democracy is spoiled by apathy in my opinion. If everyone were to vote then I am sure that decisions made by local & national governments would be different. We tend just to hear the opinions of the passionate few. Not necessarily the opinions of the majority.

My point Adam, is where did you hear it? Hear say or horses mouth?
