WreX-iTParticipantIt does make a nice change from readings headlines such as:
– Police carrying out a large-scale operation at a traveller site in Wrexham
– Councillor wants action taken over Gresford travellers as soon as possible
– Community ‘devastated’ after Travellers set up camp in village
– Llay residents remain ‘outraged’ over Wrexham Local Development Plan
– Police attend as travellers ‘take over field’ in Llay
– Brymbo campaigns against proposed Traveller site
– Travelling gang locked up for stealing power tools from vans
– man had knife during confrontation between travellers and homeless people at wrexhams old groves school
– Legal bid to oust travellers who’ve pitched up in field
– Travellers pitch up behind Wrexham superstore
– Man arrested at traveller site in connection with distraction burglariesThese people can be valuable members of our society if we let them in.
WreX-iTParticipantStaff are saving around £600 a year with their free parking. Stop this and save thousands.
WreX-iTParticipantI have been told that the Chief Officer in charge of this is leaving. My guess is that the review will not now happen.
Its a bit like BREXIT! The people want it but the top brass put it off because they don’t want it.

WreX-iTParticipantFlintshire garden waste charge raises nearly £1m
A council’s charge to residents for collecting garden waste has raised nearly £1m this year.
Despite opposition, more than 40% of Flintshire households signed up to pay £30 a year for collections once a fortnight between March and November.
A report to the environment scrutiny committee said this had raised £966,000 compared to a target of £800,000.
This is a good idea : “The authority had considered a discount for people on benefits, but decided it would not be appropriate, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
They have actually charged the scrounging element who expect to sit at home or in the pub and pay nothing towards anything!
WreX-iTParticipantIt does make a change from Travellers being in the news recently for police raids on their encampment, distraction theft, abuse or their children throwing stones at cars.
Perhaps the people of Brymbo and Llay will read about their charity work and have a change of heart. I do hope so because we should not tar them all with the same brush.
WreX-iTParticipantWhen Migrant workers in the UK, many in low-paid jobs, are sending £8bn a year to support families in their home countries, is it any wonder why we have a CRISIS in the NHS?
More people entering the country than leaving and all requiring access to health services ….
Namby pambies need to grow a pair and admit they are wrong. People voted OUT of the EU to ‘help’ the NHS …… but its layer on layer of lies.
WreX-iTParticipantDoes the free Festive parking mean that the public are allowed to park in the Councillor car park and Crown buildings?
WreX-iTParticipantWhat truly benevolent shop owners – Maureen and Rex please hang your head in shame!
WreX-iTParticipantParking isn’t free overnight and 6.00pm to midnight is £1.00 but if nobody is around to slap on the tickets it is effectively free if you want to risk it.
If my old head is correct it used to be a nominal fee overnight like 10p.
I don’t think signs saying “Come and Park Here because we don’t apply wardens at night” goes with the Council’s money-making ethic MP :)November 12, 2018 at 11:25 am in reply to: Universal Credit Furthers Pressure on Local Budget #158814
WreX-iTParticipantWith UC you are given a great big pot of money each month and told to pay your rent and other bills. In other words they treat everybody like an adult.
People who have been spoon fed all of their lives suddenly gain a pocket full of cash and i can guess that a lot (not all) will be down the shops buying items they couldnt normally afford, be off down the pub and bookies or paying off some of their own loans.
They dont want to pay their rent because they know they Council will have to rehouse them.
And they will have a Merry Christmas too!
