I’m not one to stick up for the council or anyone else for that matter, but two of our esteemed council members were needed because one is Town Center development and one is Transport.

How about trawling the Gwenfro for shopping trolleys? Or going on a dog muck picking up expedition?? What a stupid statement – there are workmen who clean these things up – but if morons didn’t litter/dump then it would,nt be there.

Again not sticking up for them, but most Councillors I come into contact with, do do something constructive and give back to their community in time and effort.

Oh what a fantastic idea! And one that only the marvelous SWAG* could come up with, appointing another 30 SAMs* to not attend meetings about meetings, sit on committees and pass reams & reams of A4 around Cardiff Bay. I couldn’t think of any thing better to spend ££millions on – so stop your whinging NHS you’ve never had it so good. Incidentally, I passed the local SAM’s surgery the other day, wasn’t as full as A&E, but more sick people!

And if anyone asks why more SAM’s*, its to balance out the reduction in the local councils in North & Mid Wales. Luckily South Wales will keep or increase their councils, so no change there!
UP THE WAG, UP SOUTH WALES & UP YOURS to the rest of us.
Expanding this Aldi Store would make what is a real bottle neck even worse. One road in and out of a congested site.
Reduced car parking on the aldi site will only further add to long standing issues
Yer, lets campaign to get Plas Coch Retail Park shut and empty by Christmas, fit in with the Town Center then! Dope!

I know experience is not everything, but as a long in the tooth, way past her sell by date old trollop myself, I think that being a local Councillor for little more than 8 months hardly qualifies Mr A to become a Lead Member on the Executive Board. I know experience can be only be gained over time, but surely for such ‘an important’ position their must be someone better suited to the role.

I think for the Council as usual, its a case of dammed if you do and dammed if you don’t. People said the site would have be ideal for the new police station, it would have been ideal for Coleg Cambria, it would have been ideal for an art centre. Yer maybe, but, Council / WAG get their funds from different pots and can only be used for certain things. Grants are available to build things – like the bus station for instance – but cost of running and upkeep has to be met by the Council. I don’t agree with it, but unfortunately its the way of local government, and people need to understand the way it works.
However, and I know its not WAG, but if Boris gets his way to build a bridge to France while the NHS is crawling on its knees then god help us all! ]
If it wasn’t for the magnificent & dedicated front line staff in the NHS and the local council for that matter, the county would be in an even worse state than it is now. Blame the system not the staff!

Profits put back into Public Services instead of cuts. Why has this not been put forward by all our professional number crunchers and Members in the Council?

Jackpot. This is what needs to happen. The council need to hire a transport chief exec and set it all up. Run a high quality service around the county and link to other key locations. Monies get reinvested back into Wrexham.
JACKPOT! CRACKPOT more like. Sounds a great idea, just come up with £100 grand for a suitable DDA compliant bus – that’s just for one bus by the way. And even if you bend the Traffic Commissionaires rules regarding running a subsidised service on a commercial route, many well established bus companies have tried to take on ARRIVA/CROSVILLE over the years ie, the infamous no.1 route battle between Crosville & Wrights springs to mind, so to suggest the council suddenly rise up and take on the world is a quite a ludicrous idea! Going back to my original thread analogy, – Why do you think Abbie Lowe’s and all the other local shops for local people have gone to the wall and Tesco are thriving?

Get real people!
