The “new” Wrexham team haven’t so far had the best build up to the new season. Some mediocre performances against
very poor opposition as well as a thumping from premier side Stoke city doesn’t look promising for the coming season.
We can only hope that from these pre season games they have learnt a few lessons and can improve and gel together.
To be honest, I am surprised that the club do as well as they do. There was a fork in the road over a decade ago when the wrong person in the wrong place told the good folk of Wrexham one of life’s realities……the club lacked revenue and needed to move. He pointed out that the 2000-3000+ supporters who attended a match every couple of weeks could never cover the costs of a Football League club, attracting the type of investment that could see Wrexham FC in higher leagues with good players. Hamilton was dismissed by the club’s supporters because he appeared to have an agenda that few could agree with. Unfortunately, despite the need to “shoot the messenger” (metaphorically), the message was vital. The message was what saw Stoke relocate to the Brittania, Swansea to the Liberty and other clubs throughout the Leagues do likewise. I suspect that a League club with no ground ownership and no obvious alternative revenue streams will do well to survive in the position it now finds itself. Sad

The one Grand Canyon sized flaw in your Hamilton lament is that the man wanted to sell off the ground for his own profit with no intention of building a new stadium for the club. He even wrote that this was his aim in a contract he signed along with Mark Guterman, which proved to be their ultimate downfall. Alas, after the ground was returned to its rightful owners three local businessmen managed to cock it up again.
