There is no snobbery in wanting the best for your children although I always believed that if a child was reasonably bright that it doesn’t matter where they go to school. I am now not so sure of it. Home life has always played a major part in how children turn out as well. If children are allowed to be rude & use bad language at home there isn’t much chance that they will grow up as well adjusted adults in the world of work. Guidelines need to be set & adhered to. Discipline is sadly lacking in today’s world.
Believe me a lot of school choice is indeed snobbery.

Larger authorities would not be a good thing but sharing education services might and would save money. However choice has probably focused kids from poorer areas into the schools that already had a high proportion. Hard to pay to ship your kids out of the county if finances are already tight.

Can’t believe we all got to Wembley with only one minor accident reported! Major exercise to clear the roads!
Just got home and can’t believe how much more we have had. But it isn’t as bad as driving this morning!

Not all education is that bad. Some is excellent. Need to learn from those.
