wrexviewParticipant“We have significantly increased Wrexham Maelor Hospital’s Emergency Department’s workforce, including the number of consultants in the department. We have also completed the expansion of the Emergency Department to create more consulting and treatment rooms for patients who need urgent care.”
Tonight (Monday)
“Tonight Ian Donnelly, Integrated Health Care Director of Operations (East), said: “Our Emergency Department at Wrexham Maelor Hospital is very busy at present and at this time people may face extremely long waits. ”So the increase in staff numbers and accommodation expansion haven’t help reduce the pressure on waiting times in the A&E department. Have they got a fully staffed , including the extra staff BCUHB have said they have employed, A&E in the the Maelor Hospital tonight?

DerekJacksonParticipantThe update this morning is even worse for waiting even though fewer people. 72 waiting but nearly 5 hour wait. These are average waits as there are bound to be some people in A & E who were there last night.
Wonder if we will hear anything from Lesley Griffiths or Ken Skates about these problems – they are good at getting publicity for their Island Green car park campaign despite people being able to chose and car in another car park but they have remained totally silent on health services which people don’t have an alternative choice.November 21, 2023 at 8:51 pm #243319

IMHOParticipantWas talking with a guy yesterday, he told me that very recently at Wrexham Maelor his mother in law spent a night in an ambulance then a further number of hours on a bed in a corridor, all in all about 20 hours to be properly dealt with. Health is not a priority with this disgraceful administration we suffer under in Cardiff, they are more interested in pet projects such as 20mph speed limits, “net zero” whatever that is, taxing tourism, forcing along the take up of the Welsh language and, oh yes, puffing it’s chest out and demanding the Israelis “cease fire” as if they are going to listen to a few pound shop politicians! As for Ken Skates, unless it’s for a nice easy photo op somewhere. something he can put on his social media to make him look as if he’s doing something he’s not interested, runs away. A few weeks ago he was supposed to be holding a “surgery” in our village but must have got wind of what we wanted to speak to him about (blanket 20mph.speed limits) but using Twitter cried off, no sign of him yet.

DerekJacksonParticipantWhy does wrexham.com not ask our two MSs Lesley Griffith and Ken Skates? They are supposed to represent local residents, seems a fat chance they will talk about the failings of Welsh Labour in Health Services.
Clearly they think their car park campaign is more important. -
