Walking up Yorke Street today there was a strong smell coming from the bins parked on the pavement opposite the entrance to Eagles Meadow. Continuing up to Church Street the same aroma was in the air from bins parked next to the gates of the St Giles . How unpleasant for a bride and groom or mourners at a funeral. It is summer and the weather is hot and these bins placed in public areas stink. It does little to help the image of Wrexham. The bins on Yorke Street and those placed at the entrance to St Giles have been a problem for years and neither the Environmental nor Planning Department of the Council seem able to resolve it. If their owners cleaned them regularly it would at least reduce the smell.

There used to be a really strong smell of lager being brewed.

I feel for the people who live in the Johnstown / Ruabon area with the landfill. I drove through there the other day and the smell was awful.

Today we have welcomed many new visitors into town and they have enjoyed an excellent free event. Unfortunately as they walked around the town in the beautiful sunshine the same bins and others on Townhill were still both visible and smelling. We have a Grade 1 listed building right in the middle of town it is a pity it is almost surrounded by bins!

There is a terrible stench in town this morning. From about Queens square
all the way past BHS towards WH Smiths. Lots of people covering their noses it was so bad.

Were the windows of the council offices open, as there’s a lot of S*** in there:D:D

There was a big drain cleaning wagon working on the junction by Arnolds pub this morning — wonder if they have found blocked drains
